These Terms and Conditions govern all work carried out by Baker Motors Ltd (“the Company”). By authorising repairs, diagnostics or services, the customer (“the Client”) agrees to be bound by the following terms:
Ownership of Goods
All parts, components and materials supplied by Baker Motors Ltd remain the property of the Company until payment has been received in full.
The Company reserves the right to recover any parts or goods not paid for in accordance with UK law.
Use of Vehicle After Repair
The Company accepts no liability for any damage, failure or consequential loss arising from the Client’s use of the vehicle in Motorsport, track day events, competitive driving, or any other high-stress or non-road-legal activity.
The Client acknowledges that such use places exceptional mechanical stress on the vehicle and may lead to premature component failure.
Modified Vehicles
Baker Motors Ltd is not liable for any failure, defect or consequential loss associated with modified vehicles, including performance upgrades, tuning, aftermarket components, or non-standard systems.
The Client accepts that modified vehicles operate outside manufacturer specifications and inherently carry increased risk.
Customer-Supplied Parts
Where the Client supplies their own parts, components or fluids, the Company provides no warranty or guarantee for the suitability, quality, performance or lifespan of those parts, or for any damage caused by them.
The Company is not responsible for incorrect, faulty or incompatible parts supplied by the Client.
If a customer-supplied part fails, all associated labour costs for removal, diagnosis and replacement are payable by the Client.
Estimates and Pricing
All estimates are provided in good faith but may vary where additional faults or work are identified.
The Client will be notified before any work exceeding the original estimate is undertaken.
Storage charges may apply for uncollected vehicles after 48 hours of completion notice.
All quotes provided by the Company are valid for a period of 14 days from the date issued. After this period, the Company reserves the right to revise the quote.
Warranty on Workmanship
Baker Motors Ltd provides a warranty on labour where Company-supplied parts are used.
No warranty is provided where customer-supplied parts are used.
Warranty is void if the vehicle is used in Motorsport, track events, or is modified after the repair.
Payment Terms
A parts deposit is required before any work is carried out. Work will not commence until the required deposit has been paid in full. The remaining balance is due upon collection of the vehicle unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Vehicles may be retained under the Company’s lien rights until full payment is received.
Late payments may incur statutory interest charges.
Parts deposits are strictly non-refundable. Once parts are ordered, the deposit cannot be returned under any circumstances, regardless of cancellation or changes of mind.
Liability
Baker Motors Ltd will not be liable for loss of income, profits, incidental or consequential loss, damage arising from existing faults, or failures caused by unrelated components.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Vehicle Condition & On-Site Liability
The client is responsible for ensuring the vehicle is delivered to the Company in a safe and roadworthy condition. Any existing damage, faults or defects must be disclosed when the vehicle is dropped off.
The Company will not be liable for any pre-existing damage, corrosion, wear or latent defects, damage arising from structural weakness or deteriorated components, damaged caused by removing seized, rusted, damaged or previously incorrectly fitting parts.
Vehicles are kept on-site at the Client’s own risk. While the Company takes reasonable care, it accepts no liability for loss or damage caused by weather or environmental conditions, third-party actions, vandalism or attempted theft, incidents occurring outside of working hours, fault or failures not related to the work carried out by the Company
The Company’s liability is limited to damage caused by proven negligence of its employees during the repair process.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
